Students and Friends of Norman Thomas HS can
receive free tax e-Filing. The Volunteer
Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Center will
open starting February 1 through April
15. Representatives will be available
every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3pm
- 6pm in Room 414. You must make an
appointment by leaving a message at
212-576-0500 extension 5554. One of VITA's
representatives will return your call.

tutoring services are available for NTHS
students this term. The enrollment period
begins on Wednesday September 21st. Please see your guidance counselors to register.

dominates virtual enterprise competition

 On
Friday December 10, 2010, three Virtual
Enterprise firms from Norman Thomas High
School competed in the Thirteenth Annual
Virtual Enterprises, International Manhattan
Business Plan Competition. The Business Plan
Competition is the centerpiece event for the
VE program. It is an opportunity for
students to showcase their skills,
 abilities
and knowledge about business, financial
practices, global economic conditions and
the industry that their virtual business
represents through written business plans
and oral presentations. Twelve teams
competed in this event. Two of our teams,
Essence Hotel and A.C.T. Professional
Services, won First and Second Place,
respectively. Both teams have qualified for
the city finals, which will take place on
January 14, 2011 at Deloitte & Touche.
