midtown business academy (MBA)

Mission Statement

The vision of the Midtown Business Academy is to provide a stimulating and meaningful learning environment that maximizes each student’s individual potential and ensures that students are well equipped to meet the challenges of education, work, and life.

Academy Philosophy

To help our students be successful, the staff of the Midtown Business Academy will:

>>  Provide an inviting classroom environment with clear expectations and specific academic and behavioral goals
>>  Promote positive behaviors and attitudes by modeling the qualities of good character (respect, support, and personal integrity) both with colleagues and students
>>  Collaborate with students throughout the learning process to achieve academic success and celebrate accomplishments
>>  Collaborate with colleagues to apply effective classroom learning strategies and management practices to enhance student learning
>>  Strive continuously to develop our students’ skills, attitudes, habits, and abilities to help them move forward

Why study in the midtown business academy?

The Midtown Business Academy gives students an “edge” as they prepare to enter college and the business world by offering a range of courses and majors that introduce integral concepts needed to succeed in both. In addition, many of our students graduate with certification in their specialized area. For example, Hotel and Business Management students can receive certification by the Lodging Association of America, while Fashion Marketing students can earn certification by the National Retail Foundation. Accounting students can even be certified by the IRS in tax preparation! This kind of certification tells potential employers that our students are well-equipped and prepared for their field of choice as early as the high school level.

Program Coursework

Courses offered in the Midtown Business Academy include the following:

>>  Entrepreneurship
>>  Virtual Enterprise
>>  Marketing
