Vision Statement

Media Technology Academy students, caring critical thinkers, will complete globally using their 21st century skills; integrating technology and academics.

Mission Statement

The Media Technology Academy community of learners will develop sound educational practice promoting student development as lifelong learners in an environment of respect.  Collaborating with our families and our communities, our students will grow to serve the public trust, ethically and morally effecting positive change in our world.

School Philosophy

The Media Technology Academy believes that it is the shared responsibility of the home, students, and the community to work together to create an educational climate in which students deepen their understanding to themselves and the world around them. With every member of the school community taking an active role in student learning, our goal is to offer students every opportunity for success for themselves and those around them.

Why study media technology?

The Media Technology Academy is designed to educate students to have a broad understanding of computer and digital technologies, a solid foundation in software applications, highly developed problem solving skills and an understanding of digital arts. In addition, the students’ creative potential will be developed through an innovative academic curriculum that balances content with technology skills.

Program Coursework

Coursework in the media programs involves training in Microsoft Office applications, web design, digital video, audio, graphics, illustration and animation. Courses offered include the following:

>>  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Desktop Publisher - Microsoft Office Specialist certification
>>  Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Flash) – Adobe certification
>>  Website design and development - DreamWeaver
>>  Video Editing and Production (Final Cut Pro, Final Draft)
>>  Computer Animation (Flash, Maya) – Adobe certification
>>  Principles of Graphic Design
