Welcome to Norman Thomas High School for Commercial Education and to the Department of Health and Physical Education and Music and Art.

Our department is housed on the 9th floor of the school. We have 13 physical education, health, art and music teachers for @ 2,500 students. We have two excellent weight training classrooms funded through the Fit for Life Program in addition to a main gymnasium and two multi-function smaller gymnasia. Our students wear a school uniform for physical education.

We presently offer a three-sport per semester program where students rotate into volleyball, weight training, and team handball in the fall. In the spring the units are basketball, floor hockey and weight training. We will be expanding our course offerings by providing courses student can select for physical education. The course offerings will include baseball, football, body building, aerobics and possibly dance, martial arts/karate. We carry 20 P.S.A.L. teams.
